Mega SOD is an antioxidant enzyme that serves as the primary key responsible for maintaining the steady state level of hydrogen peroxide and eliminate reaction oxygen species (ROS). Therefore, it is believed to get results in protection of biological integrity of cells and tissues from oxidation of lipids.

SOD exists in three different isoforms: SOD1, SOD2, and SOD3. SOD1 and SOD3 bind with copper and zinc ions in their active sites and SOD2 binds with manganese ions. In contrast with the SOD in the market which only consists of SOD1, Mega SOD contains all three isoforms (SOD1, SOD2 & SOD 3) which is totally superior than those ordinary SOD extracted from plants.
